The 7 Biggest Challenges of Doing Telesummits and How to Overcome Them — 12 Comments

  1. This has been truly helpful. I’ve taken Sage’s summit course but could not keep up with it at the time and still feel it would be good to do a summit, but have been really down about all the work and worry. I’ve spent money on the JVInsider Circle course too, and been unable to keep up with that since I’m doing all I can to keep up with ELA. Thank you for all the tips!

    • Hi Di! So great to hear from you! There is SO much good stuff out there and easy to more on our plate than our stomachs can digest when the buffet table is so tempting! What are the things you are learning that you know will feed your business the most right now?

    • Lela – any other big learnings you had doing your first Summit that you want to share? I’m so glad this has been helpful for you! That made my day!

  2. Hi Tara,

Thanks for the great article! I took some notes and appreciate you being realistic about the time it takes to pull one of these things together. I’m considering doing one, and while I’m anxious to get started, I think pushing it out a bit is a wise decision. I’m looking forward to Sage’s telesummit call!

    • Hi Robin
Knowing your area of expertise, I do think a Summit could be really powerful. To fully leverage a Summit, you want to make sure you are crystal clear about your Divine Ideal Client, Market Niche and Programs/Services. After that foundation is laid, Summits can be very beneficial and a lot of fun!

  3. HI, Tara,
Thanks for your terrific article. As I launch my first teleseminar today and then follow it with planning for my first telesummit next February, your tips are great reminders of how to proceed. Please keep me posted on your other articles as you are a very wise and generous resource. All my best, Linda

    • Linda – I am so glad it was helpful! Good luck with your teleseminar!!! I cannot wait to hear how it goes. This is a huge milestone! Let us know if there are any best practices or lessons learned that you had! Best of luck, Tara

    • Fantastic, Trudy! You are getting just the support you need! My Telesummit was called The Courageous Entrepreneurial Leap and was for Aspiring and Emerging Entrepreneurs and covered topics that supported the 5 steps in my process (Foundation (Vision, Values, Strategic Goals), Divine Ideal Client/Market Niche, Products/Service offerings, marketing/business development, and Strategic Alliances with other Professionals). I also had several speakers throughout about managing limiting beliefs, since lots of our “stuff” shows up when we are up to big, courageous action. It was pretty comprehensive – 19 speakers. Next time, I would pick a smaller number of speakers that all speak to one central topic – like “How to Build Your List” or “Client Enrollment”. It was perfect and I also see that it didn’t need to be so BIG to get the outcome I wanted while supporting my listeners.

  4. Great review of lessons learned. I’m in Sage’s Telesummit Training course right now, and already have 10 people that said YES to be a speaker on my series. I’m still working on the name, but have a start date of January 14th! I see a lot of hard work in my future, but will be getting help, too.

    • Congratulations, Lisa! I have no doubt that your Summit will be amazing given who you are and how far in advance you are planning. I look forward to hearing about this journey as it unfolds! Warmly, Tara
