Now there are 7 C’s instead of 6 to Savvy Strategic Alliances
I have never met a coach who hasn’t had a deep love and desire for Connection.
Coaches love deep dialogue. We are infinitely curious about others. Connection inspires us and helps cultivate our creativity and joy. And frankly, one of the hardest parts of being a solopreneur is that it can be challenging to find the right partners to collaborate with who are also a good fit for this deeper connection that we long for.
What makes a great partner is complex and nuanced.
If I had a dollar for every story I’ve heard from coaches about failed Strategic Alliances, I’d be able to rent a beautiful Airbnb on the coast for a week! Most such partnerships aren’t successful because the foundation was never solid to begin with. It is usually because well intentioned, optimistic people moved forward building a house on sand.
But this doesn’t have to be you. I have been helping my clients build successful Strategic Alliances for over a decade and I have developed a methodology to success with Strategic Alliances and the keys that create a solid foundation.
I have found that there are 7 key components that every successful, long term, profitable Strategic Alliance needs and I call them the 7 C’s:
For years, I have had 6 primary keys but as I’ve been helping more and more successful, experienced coaches in recent years up level their practices and form Strategic Alliances, I realized that it was important to have a 7th key as part of this criteria, and that new key is “Competency.“ Competency means that you have a similar level of experience and expertise. I realized how important this was because highly successful coaches have a harder time finding other professionals that can match them in terms of competency. Often this results in these coaches compromising and spending way too much time and energy mentoring and supporting the people they partner with, which can result in major imbalances in the relationship and it’s profitability.
If you are curious to learn more about all the 7 C’s, what each one entails and why each one is so important, check out my 7 minute video on “The 7 Cs to Choose the Right Strategic Alliances.” I promise you’ll walk away with a better understanding of what is needed in a potential partner to have that strong foundation.
I would love to hear your takeaways as well as any thoughts or questions you may have!
With appreciation,
Tara Butler Floch
